  • Circle time consists of hello song, Pledge of Allegiance, calendar (dates, months of the year, days of the week), weather, music, and creative movement.
  • Whole group learning we review alphabet letters and sounds, talk about the letter of the week, numbers of the month, color, shape, and theme of the month, sight words, and counting. Songs, music, and movement will be used to help teach these concepts.
  • During individual writing practice students will be tracing and writing their name, letters, numbers, shapes, and words.
  • Table time consists of some type of fine motor activity, such as cutting/gluing, coloring, puzzles, etc.
  • Centers/Works are learning activities & works such as lacing, stringing beads, sorting (colors, shapes, sizes), pouring & scooping works, transferring works (both for whole hand and fingers) matching works (picture to picture, picture to object etc), picture sequencing, classification, opposites, stacking, counting works, etc. Students will be able to choose which works or activities they would like to do during centers. Lessons will be given on each work. During this time we will work with individuals or small groups reviewing letters and sounds, reading, and other specific skills.
  • Creative movement is learning through creativity, music, and movement together. We will be using instruments, bean bags, and other props with some of our creative movement songs. Children love to learn through music and dance!
